The resident continuity experience is a foundational component of training in pediatrics. Providing an effective education while also providing high quality care in this setting can be a daunting responsibility for a continuity director and committed faculty. The objective of this workshop will be to help participants identify opportunities to improve the organization and education that takes place in continuity practices at their home institutions. Following introductions, participants, in groups of three, will share innovative and feasible methods they have found to present their continuity education. Each trio will then share their comments in the form of a word cloud using the Poll Everywhere cell phone application. Additional tips will be shared by the workshop leaders, who are Continuity SIG Steering Committee members with various educational backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to this and other workshop activities. Participants will then move to a small group session where they will choose among three topics identified by a needs assessment of Continuity SIG membership (curriculum development, faculty development, and resident evaluation). Participants will share topic challenges and solutions, including resources that would be helpful for other faculty. Each small group will report out at the end, sharing ideas with all workshop participants. A final summative large group session will be held, and a toolkit with topic-related and general resources will be provided. Participants will reflect on what they have learned and commit to a change they will make at their own site for the next academic year.
