This session will outline the contemporary epidemiology & outcomes of renal transplant and focus on cutting edge controversies and therapies that will shape pediatric renal transplant over the next decade. This session will include a review of contemporary transplant epidemiology and outcomes (short-term and long-term) focusing on opportunities for improvement and the impact of recent changes in graft availability following allocation changes. The symposia will include an in-depth discussion of protocols biopsies, their potential impact on outcomes, and the data to support protocol biopsies. This session will also include will include a review and update of the novel biomarkers in renal transplant including cell free DNA, the interaction between DSA and AMR, optimal role for screening DSA, the current treatment of antibody mediated rejection, and novel induction/ maintenance regimens.
