After the welcome and introduction, this postgraduate course will describe Critical Periods of Brain Development, Mechanisms of Preterm Brain injury including cerebellar injury, gray and white matter injury; Contributors to brain injury including Placental role in brain injury and the role of seizures (Dx, Tx and outcomes). Following a lunch break, a session on the importance of nutrition will include talks on iron and Gut microbiota and brain development. This is followed by talks on the Long term effect of pain on outcomes, the effect of SES, racism, Parent depression after discharge and effects of prematurity on aging.
