With the reemergence of pediatric travel at this stage in the COVID-19 pandemic, pediatricians have the opportunity to keep their patients safe by providing up-to-date, effective travel medicine interventions. Designed for general and subspecialist pediatricians, this workshop focuses on our most complex and vulnerable travelers including long-term travelers, immigrant/refugee families returning to visit friends & relatives, children with complex special needs, and immunosuppressed pediatric travelers. Participants will work together in small groups to create safe travel medicine plans for real-life complex cases, facilitated by pediatricians of The International Society of Travel Medicine. At the end of the workshop, participants will have gained up-to-date knowledge in recent pediatric travel medicine interventions, be able to provide travel medicine care for high-risk and complex patients, identify strategies for addressing travel medicine challenges during busy clinic visits, and identify pediatric travel medicine resources for any future needs.
