Keeping learners engaged during a didactic teaching session is a challenge almost all educators have encountered. With the transition to virtual learning over the past year, capturing learners’ attention can sometimes feel like an uphill battle. What are some techniques and tips to improve learner engagement? In this workshop, participants will learn about the importance of active learning and explore different active learning strategies. The goal is to provide participants with practical techniques that they can incorporate right away into teaching sessions to improve learner engagement. This workshop will model the use of several strategies and web resources for active learning. Participants will also have independent work time to use what they learned to modify previous or current teaching sessions.
