Injury remains a leading cause of death for young people despite substantial reductions in mortality over the 30 years since the founding of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. This APA SIG session will feature conversations with national leaders on the future of injury and violence prevention in the United States and globally. Participants will learn about prominent threats to safety for children and youth, new approaches to injury prevention, efforts directed toward eliminating disparities, and opportunities to become involved within professional organizations dedicated to reducing morbidity and mortality from intentional and unintentional injury mechanisms.
