Community acquired pneumonia (CAP) is one of the most common infectious diseases affecting children both in the inpatient and ambulatory settings. Newer data have emerged that impact how CAP is managed in children. Including shorter courses for uncomplicated CAP, combination therapy for severe MRSA pneumonia, and diagnostic tools. This session will improve attendees’ knowledge on novel management strategies for community acquired pneumonia including antimicrobial selection and duration, and diagnostics.
