Pediatricians can play many roles in responding to the climate crisis. This session will describe how pediatricians can be effective climate advocates by testifying before decisionmakers and writing op-eds and articles for the general public. Pediatricians can identify the substantial health benefits (and cost savings) that are possible when cities, states, and businesses commit to 100% renewable energy. They also can provide advice to patients and families about healthy electric homes. Pediatricians can also encourage their professional organizations to divest from fossil fuels. The session will have plenty of time for pediatricians to discuss their own efforts and receive advice from colleagues in the forefront of the movement to address the climate crisis.
