Training residents and students in advocacy and community pediatrics changed significantly over the last few years. Due to the challenges of COVID-19, visits to community partners and opportunities to engage in person with community members were often not possible, and in many cases continue to be limited. Training programs had to adapt to COVID restrictions while at the same time providing opportunities for learners. As time has passed, some programs have been able to return to in-person learning while others are still operating mainly remotely. This session highlights innovations in Advocacy and Community pediatrics training that were instituted during COVID-19, with a focus on educational programming that has persisted, and in some cases improved curricula, even after restrictions have abated. Speakers will share their approaches to training and breakout sessions will provide an opportunity for participants to network and share ideas.
